Your $1.00 per Day can Lift Women out of Poverty

  • Poverty is a Global Problem

Globaly, 689 million people live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $1.90 a day. This is not just a third world problem. Due to unstable world events, first world poverty is increasing, leaving women and children without the basic necessities that many of us take for granted.

  • Women and Children are primary Victims

Children and youth account for two-thirds of the world’s poor, and women represent a majority in most regions.

  • Could You Live on $35 per day?

It is easy to picture poverty in developing nations. Yet we imagine that everyone has enough in North America. Here are the facts. In the United States and Canada  approximately 10.% of the population live in poverty as of 2019. For an individual in North America, the poverty line is $12,880 a year, or about $35.28 per day.

  • Mindsets Need to Change

Poverty continues to grow in a flawed economic system that values the wealth of the privileged few, mostly men, more than the billions of hours of the most essential work –the unpaid and underpaid care work done primarily by women and girls around the world. This has to change.

  • We Need to Elevate Women out of Poverty

Ending global poverty begins with women's rights. As a part of our mission, Women on the frontlines advocates for women's rights and equality at every level of society. We promote women's leadership in their homes and communities, and we work to transform systems that entrench inequality and injustice.

  • You Can Make a Difference

Through project hope Women on the Frontlines is helping women to buy land, seed, business and building materials in the third world. We are working to create outreach programs for North American Women that will offer small business grants and training for women struggling to break free from poverty.
